‘THE UNNAMABLE’

‘The Unnamable’ is a short film that follows a cryptic young creature as he takes the train from Dublin city to Sandycove. Through narration that borrows the words of James Joyce and Samuel Beckett, The Unnamable confronts ideas of splintered self-image, loneliness, and being seen in a fundamentally blind world.

Filmed in just 4 days with a budget of $250, The Unnamable is the first film written and directed by Lucien Clough and Luke Opalack. It was selected and shown at the James Joyce-themed Bloomsday Festival in Dublin.

‘arise, nostalgiac’

Led by a series of poetic and prophetic notes, ‘arise, nostalgiac’ follows boyish Sinis as he attempts to understand who he is, once was, and can be no longer.

‘arise, nostalgiac’ is the second film written and directed by Lucien Clough and Luke Opalack. Filmed over the course of one week and edited by Luke and Lucien over the course of a whole summer, the short features music from Canadian musician Hugh Christopher Brown and animations and illustrations hand-drawn by Lucien Clough. It will be submitted to a number of local film festivals.
